You’ll feel right at home with our staff of professional and attentive caregivers – you will receive the care you need from people you trust. We are staffed to care for residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our staff and residents are supported by the full capabilities and facilities of our acute care hospital. Our residents often come for care here because we are a part of the hospital. Their physician services are only steps away. We provide care for 52 residents under Medicare skilled services and other insurances of long term care under WV Medicaid. Care may be covered under Medicare, Medicaid, other insurances, and private pay. Our complement of services includes nursing care by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, Activity Professionals, and Social Work Services. Rehabilitation services are physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and respiratory therapy. We have a visiting dentist, optometrist, and audiologist, as well as physicians specializing in orthopedics, urology, podiatry, cardiology and general surgery available through the physician practices.
When it is time for you or your family member to receive skilled or long term care, we want to be your care provider. We are already your neighbors, your doctors, and your friends. We will be honored to care for you and become a part of your family.

What They Said About Us
My mother has been in Summersville Extended Care for almost 3 years. When she came to this facility she was very sick and was near death or at least I thought and so did her doctor. But Mother improved and has continued to improve. The care she receives is excellent, not always perfect, as we deal with human problems. She LOVES it here; she LOVES the other residents, CNAs, Nurses, workers, and volunteers. The many activities that are provided are things she really looks forward to. She absolutely LOVES her home here.
I wanted to thank you for the wonderful care you have taken of my mother, Mary Bennett. Before she came to SRMC Extended Care Facility, she was alone at home most of the time. She was very depressed, cried a lot, could not cook or clean for herself, could not remember to take her medications and had her days and nights mixed up. Occasionally, when we would arrive home from work to check on her, she had fallen at some point during the day. Since arriving at SRMC Extended Care Facility, she is so much happier. The administration and nursing staff has been extremely helpful, respectable, thoughtful and caring towards my mother. She is well taken care of physically and emotionally. I can definitely state the following positive changes: She doesn’t cry because of loneliness, she has a wonderful roommate, she gets to play BINGO, she is getting therapy that she did not receive at home, and recently, she attended the Rudy Elvis Show in the solarium and was/is ecstatic. The activities at the nursing home are great for her mental state. I want to thank you for all you do. There are no words to describe what it means to her family to know she’s safe, happy and healthy.
