General Surgery

Don’t be misled by the term ‘general’. General surgeons are anything but generalists… They are highly trained and practice lifelong learning to stay ahead of the curve with new techniques and technology. We have highly qualified surgeons serving the needs of the Summersville region. They are strong members of the community and pride themselves on accessible, minimally invasive treatments for every patient.

Talk to your primary care provider about the different surgery options available for your condition. If you do find a need for surgery, ask for a referral to one of our highly qualified staff at Summersville Regional Medical Center.

Should you require surgery, you want a caring, qualified team. Our surgeons have 20 combined years of experience and make every effort to personalize the care you receive. We dedicate our unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care for adults and children in central West Virginia. Our operating rooms use innovative technologies and techniques to support improved patient outcomes.

At Summersville Regional Medical Center, you’re always at the center of care. Your surgeon will provide you with a treatment plan that’s tailored to you and backed by our extensive expertise and resources. You’ll start with a comprehensive evaluation which allows us to get to know you and your family, learn about your medical condition, and ask about your treatment goals and health care wishes. You’ll find immediate support from every member of our team. And we’ll stay with you long after your surgery to provide expert follow-up care.

It often is helpful to bring a family member or friend with you to your first visit as another ‘pair of ears’ to listen to the information shared and responses to your questions by our doctors and nurses. Many patients also bring along a notebook to jot down notes that will help them recall important points in the conversation or special instructions once they have left the office.
