Our Respiratory Therapy Department has committed to being lifelong learners to better serve our patients and community. Each staff member is licensed in the state of West Virginia with ACLS and PALS certification. We strive to provide the best care possible because our patients are our family. There are a total of 14 staff members throughout the hospital who work in different areas in the Respiratory Departments and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab.


In-patient Respiratory Therapy

The staff consists of 12 therapists who manage ventilators and bipaps. Our bipap units are the newest equipment on the market. We also perform arterial blood gases which are run on the newest equipment on the market. The blood gas lab is accredited through Commission of Office Laboratory Accreditation (COLA). Our staff manages Oxygen Protocol, Breathing/MDI Protocol, treatments, Overnight saturation studies, Electrocardiograms, MDI training, Smoking Cessation Classes and Education, Respiratory Disease Education, Hyperinflation Therapy Protocol, Bronchopulmonary Therapy Protocol.   Hours of service are 24/7.


Out-Patient Respiratory Therapy

The staff has one full-time therapist and one part-time therapist. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00 pm. We provide Stress Testing, Pulmonary Function Studies with a certified technician in PFT.  Holter monitor and event monitor hook-ups, Electrocardiograms, Electroencephalograms along with patient education.
